OWARI – The Art of Coping is an experience between exhibition and performance. Eleven installations are spread throughout a church, where visitors can wander freely with headphones. The Japanese word owari means “end.” The work explores the delicate boundary between loss and resilience, reflecting on how we stay upright when the world feels unstable.

Each visitor experiences OWARI in their own way. A specially designed headphone system tracks their position, synchronising music, text, and sound with film clips, lighting, and sculptural objects, creating a seamless interplay between space, sound, and time. OWARI will be presented in six different churches between 2025 and 2028, offering each audience a unique encounter with the work.

Meet T.R.I.P2, a unique caravan that takes you on a hallucinatory journey completely drug free. Together with visual sound artist René van Commenée we created this mobile installation that stimulates your eyes, ears, brainstem and imagination. Inside the caravan, specially composed music and stroboscopic lighting prompt your brain to create mesmerising colours and patterns.

The result is a ten minute psychedelic experience in which one to five visitors at a time are fully immersed in their own hallucinatory world. T.R.I.P2 offers a completely safe yet unparalleled sensation, making it perfect for festivals and special events.

Dyane Donck Collective + Cello Octet Amsterdam + Els Mondelaers

S.A.M. (Stop Annoying Me) is an immersive journey through the thoughts and emotions of the teenaged Sam. Combining film, theater, and live music.

Featuring Nina Kortekaas on film and Els Mondelaers live on stage, S.A.M. is a deeply personal performance about mental health. The versatile Cello Octet Amsterdam performs music ranging from electronic pop to dark soundscapes.

Is it you against the world?
Or your body against itself?
Is it you against your body?
Or the world against you?

ABOUT

Dyane Donck Collective (DDC) is the producing organization around composer/theatre maker Dyane Donck, who has been developing and executing multidisciplinary projects since 2010 as initiator, maker and performer.

Music is always the starting point in the various projects of DDC; composed music with influences from pop, classical, opera, soundscape and musique concrete, in which electronics and technology always play a major role.

From there DDC develop music theatre performances, headphone opera's, sound sculptures,  multidisciplinary concerts, innovative sound apps, headphone mindful experiences and lots more.

Dyane was educated in visual arts, (electronic) music and technology and collaborates with lots of other artists and technologists from different disciplines. Some collaborations went so well that they led to a permanent collective or duo.

These structural collaborations form the basis for the divers projects of Dyane Donck Collective.

Dyane Donck Collective regularly collaborates with Iris Bouwmeester, Els Mondelaers (under the title of NYX), and the ensemble Gumboy Orchestra.

Dyane Donck Collective receives structural support by the Performing Arts Fund, the Province of North Brabant and the Municipality of Breda
